If you receive a phone call from someone purporting to be a Deputy with the Sheriff’s Office, concerning a warrant for not showing up to court or jury duty. Please understand this is a scam. If you think you have been a victim of a scam, please contact the Woodford County Sheriff’s office 859-873-3119. Otherwise, be aware and do not give out information.

The Woodford County Sheriff’s Office has received a complaint from a community member who received a letter from the “Tax Group Unit” demanding final payment for Nonpayment of Takes to the State of Kentucky with a 1-800 phone number to make payment.  Please be advised the Sheriff’s Office does NOT send threatening letters out demanding payment of property taxes.  The Property Tax bills are mailed out the last week of September and delinquent notices in February every year.  If you receive a letter of this nature please do not respond and report the potential scam to the W.C.S.O. at 859-873-3119 or 859-873-3126.
